Compatibility Report
Windows Boot System was tested successfully on following machines / types:
- Intel Architecture Personal Computer
- Intel Architecture Emulator (Bochs)
- Intel Architecture Emulator (Qemu)
- Microsoft Virtual PC [Rescue Mode only]
Windows Boot System is compatible with following Operating Systems:
- Microsoft Windows XP
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003
- Microsoft Windows Vista
- Free DOS
The testing of following systems is pending:
- React OS
- Microsoft Windows 3.11
Other operating systems should be supported (able to boot), but they weren't tested yet.
Known Issues:
- Microsoft Virtual PC
Windows Boot System does not work in Virtual PC in its normal mode until Virtual PC emulates an outdated hard disk standard, which was withdrawn before Virtual PC was developed.
Windows Boot System does not mount such outdated devices.
- Addressing of Drives
Currently only the first 128 GB of a hard disk are accessible, until the LBA-48 Bit Code does not work properly, and had to be disabled. We are working to fix this issue and ordered an external developer to review the code already.
